Finding Your Way Around

Illuminated Reflections is organised into three lineages — the Ascended Masters, the Angels and the Crystal Spirits. You can explore each lineage by opening its branch in the tree on the home page. Click on any being's name to open their full profile: their sigil, keyword, Invitation, Teaching, Transmission and — for the Crystal Spirits — their Practice and Meditation. Take your time here. Let yourself be drawn to whoever calls to you.

Drawing a Single Card

If you feel called to just one being on a particular day, use the single draw buttons at the bottom of the readings section — Draw an Ascended Master, Draw an Angel, or Draw a Crystal Spirit. A card will appear face down. When you are ready, click to reveal your being. You can then open their full message by clicking the link on the card. Draw another whenever you wish, or simply sit with the one who has arrived.

Beginning a Reading

When you are ready for a fuller reading, scroll to the Begin a Reading section and choose your layout. You will be offered two ways to draw your cards — Draw For Me, which draws randomly from each lineage, or Choose Your Own, which opens a spread of face-down cards for you to select from by feel and intuition. Trust what draws your hand.

The Readings

Each reading closes with a Crystal Spirit — grounding the celestial wisdom of the Masters and Angels into the body of the earth. The readings available are:

Flipping the Cards

In all readings, cards flip one at a time — or in pairs for the larger layouts. Simply tap each face-down card when you are ready to receive it. There is no rush. Let each card land before moving to the next.

Reading the Messages

Once a card is revealed, tap 'Read the full Transmission' to open the being's complete message. For the Ascended Masters and Angels this includes the Invitation, the Teaching and the Transmission. For the Crystal Spirits it includes the Invitation, the Questions, the Teaching, the Practice and the Meditation. Read each message slowly. Sit with it. Let it settle before moving to the next card.

Working with Ascended Master and Angel Together

It is highly recommended to always read the Ascended Master and their paired Angel together. Read each one separately first, then allow the two messages to merge. The combined wisdom is almost always richer and clearer than either alone.

3 Card Daily Reading
One Ascended Master, one Angel, one Crystal Spirit. A beautiful daily practice — simple, clear and complete. Draw in the morning to set the tone for the day, or in the evening to reflect on what has unfolded.

Life Journey
Six Ascended Masters and six Angels, each holding a specific position in the layout: Heart of the Matter, Support, Personal Support, Capable of Releasing, Oversees the Journey and Challenges for the Masters; and Reason for the Reading, Direction, Development, Manifestation, Crowning and Blessing for the Angels. Mind Body Soul

Life Aspect

The Ascended Masters vibrate at a distinctly different level from the Angels, yet working with them over many years has revealed that they work in perfect harmony with each other for the benefit of all. Their combined benevolence is tremendous. While the Ascended Masters illuminate the inner workings of a particular situation and offer their grounded support, the Angels bring a celestial clarity. It is highly recommended that they are used together — draw an Ascended Master, then draw an Angel, read each message separately, and then let them merge for something deeper and clearer.

Illuminated Reflections is a living, versatile practice. Because of its breadth and depth, you are encouraged to experiment and find new ways of working with it that feels personal and true. One of the most beautiful gifts within this space is the invitation to channelling — connecting with the Ascended Masters, the Angels and the Crystal Spirits on both personal and transpersonal levels.

Love, Purpose, Fulfilment, Empowerment and living your Potential are among the great themes that move through these three lineages. The messages will often be received intuitively and felt internally, as much as they are understood mentally.

Pools of Light began on a very hot day in the year 2000 — with crystal bowls, water infused with prayer, and a deep and patient listening. What emerged were the Ascended Masters, one by one, each leaving their energetic signature in the water. My dear friend Arlee and I spent months getting this right until we had 29 of them. What started as a support for my Reiki sessions slowly revealed itself as something much larger.

The Angels were next — they knocked at the door and simply would not be ignored. So there I was again, making vials, sitting at the computer with each one in my left hand until the colour and fractal on the screen matched the vibration I was holding. 29 Angels joined the 29 Masters. In 2005 the first Pools of Light deck was published, bringing the Ascended Masters and Angels together into the world as a single unified creation.

Channelling the messages for each being was one of the great joys of this work — such a blessed feeling, spending time in the company of these divine presences. What became clear very quickly is that the Masters and Angels are deeply complementary. They are very different energetically, yet they enrich each other's message profoundly. I very rarely pull an Ascended Master now without also drawing an Angel. I encourage you to do the same — read each message separately, then let them merge for something deeper and clearer.

The Crystal Spirits arrived to ground it all in the body of the earth. Published in 2009 as their own physical card deck — 33 crystals, each carrying a specific frequency of healing, wisdom and remembrance — they completed what had begun in 2005 with the first Pools of Light deck of Ascended Masters and Angels. All three lineages now exist as published, physical card decks, out in the world and in the hands of those who work with them. Together they form a complete system: the Ascended Masters bringing their teaching, the Angels their clarity and support, and the Crystal Spirits returning you to yourself.

And now something new has emerged. What began with water and prayer in the year 2000 has continued to evolve — as all living things do. Illuminated Reflections is the next expression of this journey: a sacred digital space where all three lineages — the Ascended Masters, the Angels and the Crystal Spirits — are gathered together for the first time under one roof. Each being has been given new sigils, new imagery, and newly channelled texts that carry the same essential light as the original cards, while reaching deeper into the wisdom each one carries.

This is not a replacement for the physical decks — it is a new dimension of them. A place to come when you need guidance, when you want to sit with a being, when you feel called to a reading. A living, breathing extension of twenty-five years of love, channelling and devotion.

Welcome to Illuminated Reflections.

Prayer is talking to Spirit. Meditation and Channelling is listening to Spirit.

Everyone has the ability to channel. It is simply a matter of finding silence, getting out of your own way and listening to the guidance and wisdom of the particular Ascended Master, Angel or Crystal Spirit with whom you wish to connect. Maybe at first the voices will seem distant and faint — but slowly they will become louder and stronger. As you gain more confidence in channelling, the messages will start coming in like waves on the shore.

The secret is not to doubt the messages. Try to suspend all judgement and just let it flow. If doubt arises, wait a few days and re-read or listen to your channelling. Surprisingly, the illumination of the message will be clearer. You might even say, "oh that sounds like something I would say" — and perhaps that is so. Don't forget that it is coming through the filter of 'you', and that is to be expected, especially at first if you have never done any conscious channelling before.

To channel with a friend is wonderful. My dear friend Arlee and I would take turns — one of us scribing (that is how we called it), the other channelling. After channelling, the scriber would read back the messages and we would often be amazed at what came through. We channelled all the Ascended Masters and the Angels for this work in this way.

It is important to bring your full attention to the Ascended Master, Angel or Crystal Spirit with whom you want to connect. Take a few deep breaths. Find your silent space and ask to speak with them by name. Then say out loud:

TO KEEP THE CHANNELLING SAFE IS VERY IMPORTANT

For an Ascended Master: "I now attune myself to the spiritual dimensions in which the Ascended Masters dwell and I accept no guidance except from those realms."

For an Angel: "I now attune myself to the realms of the Angels and I accept no guidance except from those realms."

For a Crystal Spirit: "I now attune myself to the sacred wisdom of the earth and the Crystal Spirits, and I accept no guidance except from those realms."

This is very important — it keeps the channelling clean, focused and safe.

Each Crystal Spirit arrived with its own distinct character — a goddess, a shaman, a mysterious hooded figure. Some were light and humorous, reminding me to lighten up. Yet each time they appeared I was made very aware of the extraordinary potency within every one of them. Whilst I am conscious of the fact that the Crystal Spirits have no ultimate gender, some seemed to me to be either more masculine or more feminine — and so you will notice throughout that I refer to them as either he or she.

I haven't written a great deal about each Crystal Spirit — half the fun is looking into the card and discovering for yourself.

Questions, Practices and Meditations

Within each Crystal Spirit's profile you will find questions to ask yourself, a daily practice and a meditation. Some of these can bring up strong emotions. If something gets too intense, simply write it down and come back to it later. There are two guiding principles: even if something is confronting, be gentle with yourself — and remember to have fun!

About Crystals

I have deliberately not included much specific factual information about the crystals here. For those drawn to explore further, there are many wonderful books that go into great depth about where crystals are found, how they grow, their forms and colours, and their deep healing properties. For me, whenever I receive a new crystal I feel it as an offering from the planet — because where a crystal is found influences its vibration and power, and holding one is like having a tiny part of the vast secrets of the earth in my hand. The mineral kingdom is like the bones of the earth, and just as the bones of our bodies hold memory, so too do crystals hold the memory of the planet.

Creating your own Crystal Library

As you become more familiar with the Crystal Spirits, you may feel drawn to begin your own crystal library. The Crystal Spirit cards carry their own healing vibration, however it is even more powerful to work with the real thing. Working so closely with crystals, I discovered that they truly don't need to be large or expensive — even small tumbled stones contain great potency. I like to wear them, even while doing the housework or working in the garden.

Buying a Crystal

When you go to buy a crystal, take your time. Hold them in your hand. Which one feels good? Which one has the most beautiful colour? Which one has the best shape? These are all useful questions — however sometimes the right crystal seems to jump into your hand with its own purpose, saying 'Pick me, I'm the right one.' A specific crystal may also indicate itself as being most helpful for a friend or relative. You will learn to listen as your intuition refines in this area.

Cleansing your Crystals

How I like to cleanse my crystals is to pack them gently in a soft box and take them up to my favourite waterfall, where a little stream holds them beautifully in a natural bowl. I have lost a couple to the stream — but even this feels as if they have served their time with me and have naturally gone home again for a while. If you don't live near running water, the cleansing salt of the ocean is also wonderful. There are a number of other ways to cleanse them too: smudging with sage, soaking in salt water (note: this is not appropriate for all crystals), or bathing them in sunshine or moonlight. Sometimes I simply leave my smaller crystals sitting on a clear quartz cluster.

Charging your Crystal

Hold your newly cleansed crystal in your hand, close your eyes and think about what you wish to use it for. Often you will feel a heat or tingling sensation in your hands. You will know intuitively when it has finished charging. There are many ways to programme a crystal for a specific purpose — but generally you will simply and intuitively know.
